The New York Giants will be celebrating their 100th year as a franchise during the 2024 NFL season. As one of the oldest franchises in the NFL, most fans would expect something special to commemorate this.

Well, a report that came out earlier this morning gave us a better idea as to what the Giants plan on doing for this. So, what can we expect? Read below to find out.

New York Giants Giving Away Championship Bobbleheads

According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, the New York Giants will dedicate three home games during the 2024 NFL season to celebrate their 100th anniversary. During these three home games, the Giants will give out bobbleheads to a limited number of fans attending those games.

These bobbleheads do have a theme. That theme highlights every era of championships that the Giants have in their franchise history. As a result, New York plans to split this up into three notable eras.

Specific Players and Coaches Chosen for Bobbleheads

So, which players and coaches were chosen for this bobblehead giveaway? The first player chosen was Frank Gifford. He will represent the pre-Super Bowl era for the New York Giants.

Gifford is known as one of the greatest Giants in franchise history. He spent his entire 12-year career as a left halfback and flanker for the Giants. Gifford helped lead the Giants to an NFL Championship in 1956 along with five other NFL Championship appearances.

After that, the Giants plan to have a Lawrence Taylor bobblehead represent their 1986 and 1990 teams. Both teams ended up becoming Super Bowl champions. Then, we have the 2007 and 2011 Super Bowl champion teams. Those will be represented with a Tom Coughlin bobblehead.

New York Giants History

The Giants are the fourth oldest franchise in the NFL. Two of the only teams older than them are the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. Those teams should come as no surprise.

However, there is one team older than all three mentioned above that may surprise you. That team is the Arizona Cardinals. Their existence in the NFL started in 1920 when they were still in Chicago, while the Giants did not start playing in the NFL until 1925.

Still, the Giants have had a lot of memorable moments over the course of 99 years. This includes four Super Bowl titles and four NFL Championships pre-dating the Super Bowl era. Moving forward, the Giants look to capture even more titles over the next 100 years.
