New York Giants Announce Injury To Starting QB Tommy DeVito

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito has an injury that will be worth monitoring heading into Thursday's Thanksgiving showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll told local reporters that DeVito is dealing with a sore forearm on his right throwing arm but is hoping that he can play on Thursday. If he can't go, Drew Lock will start.

DeVito started this past Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a game that the Giants got crushed in by 23, 30-7. DeVito threw for 189 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.

The Giants were scoreless for the first three-quarters of that game before getting a garbage-time touchdown in the fourth quarter. DeVito started in his first game of the season after the Giants cut Daniel Jones earlier that week.

Jones was benched in favor of DeVito and went to the Giants' front office asking for his release, which they granted. They were ready to move on and so was he.

The Giants enter Thursday's game with a 2-9 record and won't be making the playoffs again. Giants fans have seen a lot of bad football over the last several years and this one is no different.

They hope that their team can score an upset win over one of their biggest rivals. The Cowboys have dominated this rivalry in recent years, winning eight of the last nine games between the two teams.

Kickoff will be at 4:30 p.m. ET on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will have the call.
