The New York Giants have already signed Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson to shore up their 2025 quarterback situation. However, they have continued to be linked to Colorado Buffaloes' standout quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
While the Sanders rumors are certainly worth watching, there are other avenues the Giants could take to land their quarterback of the future.
Neither Wilson or Winston will be the long-term answer under center for New York. If the Giants want to get ahead of the game, taking a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft would make a lot of sense.
A new prediction has been made for New York that would bring in a new potential franchise quarterback option. This prediction does not have the franchise landing Sanders.
In a new mock draft released by Reese Decker of Pro Football Network, the Giants passed on a quarterback at No. 3 overall. Instead, they selected Travis Hunter.
Looking ahead to the second round, New York did take a signal caller. While the Giants did not land Sanders, they were able to sang Ole Miss standout Jaxson Dart with the No. 34 overall pick.
Dart has been all over the place in mock drafts. Some have had him in the top-10, while others have him falling into the early second round.
During the 2024 college football season with the Rebels, Dart threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and six interceptions, while completing 69.3% of his pass attempts. He also ran for 495 yards and three touchdowns.
Fans will find out what New York chooses to do when the draft gets underway on April 24 and runs through April 26.
