New York Giants meeting with top WRs at NFL Combine

The New York Giants are reportedly meeting with the top wide receiver prospects at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. The Giants will be searching for ways to bolster their receiving corps this offseason, and the first-round of the Draft could be the most viable option to do so.

TCU's Quentin Johnston is considered by many to be the top WR prospect in this year's draft class. The 6-foot-4 wideout put up 1,069 receiving yards and six touchdowns for TCU in 2022. The Giants have shown interest in Johnston at the Combine.

"I met with [the Giants] Wednesday, and I'm meeting with them again sometime soon," Johnston said at the Combine. "It was a very welcoming staff, had good talks with them. I for sure see myself in that blue with them, just like I did in high school."

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. recently mocked Johnston to the Giants with the 25th overall pick in his updated mock draft. "Johnston is the big, fast and physical receiver they need," Kiper explained. Drafting Johnston would give the Giants the vertical, outside receiving threat that has been missing from their offense.

The Giants have also met with Jordan Addison out of USC. Addison is "as NFL-ready as it gets," according to Pro Football Focus. The 20-year-old WR prospect won the 2021 Biletnikoff Award after totaling 93 receptions for 1,479 yards and a nation-leading 17 touchdowns for Pitt.

Upon transferring to USC in 2022, Addison proved to be "among the most refined 2023 NFL Draft prospects in this class," per The Draft Network. The Giants met with Addison this week, who explained he is confident he could find success in the Big Apple, despite the "bright lights."

Wide receiver drills at the Scouting Combine kicked off on Friday afternoon. The Giants will continue to keep a close eye on the 2023 draft class' top playmakers as they look to add some new weaponry to their offense this spring.
