The New York Giants had plenty of pass-rushing help following their boost in the 2025 NFL Draft when they selected Penn State standout Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick.
Carter is set to join a roster that has Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence II, Rakeem Nunez-Roches, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. In fact, New York’s riches on the defensive line had Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report suggesting that Thibodeaux would be an ideal trade piece for the Green Bay Packers before training camp.
The Giants might want to keep him on the roster a little while longer after news surfaced on another pass rusher in OTAs.
Per Jordan Raanan of ESPN, Victor Dimukeje suffered a torn pec during OTAs and will “miss time” as he recovers from the injury.
“Edge-rusher Victor Dimukeje tore his pec during offseason workouts with the Giants, per sources,” Raanan wrote. “He’s going to miss time as a result. Dimukeje was a free-agent signing this offseason. Worth noting: Giants added OLB Abdul Carter in the draft. It’s a position of strength.”

OurLads listed Dimukeje as the No. 3 linebacker on the left side behind Burns and Chauncey Golston. The Nigerian-born defender was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2021 draft. He played college football for Duke, making second-team All-ACC in 2019.
Dimukeje has appeared in 55 games and started eight. The six-foot-two, 262-pound edge has recorded 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, four sacks, and one forced fumble in his four-year NFL career.
Dimukeje signed with the Giants in March.
