New York Giants Owner John Mara Warns Everyone Heading Into 2025

2024 was more of the same disappointment for John Mara and the New York Giants.

The G-Men finished 3-14 and have continued on their downward trajectory since head coach Brian Daboll lifted them to the playoffs two seasons ago.

Some would say the franchise was doomed when it chose to commit $140 million to Daniel Jones instead of investing a third of that in Saquon Barkley and going in a different direction at quarterback.

But even with all of that, the team's ownership is keeping the same names in place — although this time it's coming with a warning.

"In Brian's case, he was the Coach of the Year two years ago. That didn't disappear all of a sudden," Mara explained. "I still believe he can do that again. I watch how [the players] react, I still think he's the right guy."

When asked for a timetable on his commitment to both Daboll and GM Joe Schoen going forward, the owner didn't exactly give the pair a vote of confidence.

"We're gonna have to see," Mara continued. "I'm gonna have to be in a better mood this time next year than I am right now. ... It better not take too long because I've just about run out of patience."

The Giants have posted just one winning season since 2016 and have suffered double-digit losses in seven of the last eight.

It's a far cry from the heart of the Tom Coughlin era where New York was regularly in contention to go on deep playoff runs — capturing two Super Bowls in that time.

We'll see ultimately how long Mara decides to keep the status quo, but it sounds like things are going to have to change in a hurry.
