New York Jets Defensive Player Curses Out Cleveland Browns Fans
Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets suffered an ugly Week 17 loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football. The 2023 NFL season is going in two different directions for these teams. While it has been a magical ride for the Browns, it has been a disaster for the Jets. Last night, one Jets defensive player let out some of that frustration on Browns fans.

Micheal Clemons Curses Out Cleveland Browns Fans

New York Jets DT Micheal Clemons found himself sitting on the sidelines late in the game last night. It is safe to say there was some back and forth interaction between him and nearby Browns fans. As a result, you can see Clemons mouthing “f*** you” to several Browns fans nearby in this video.

The Jets ended up losing this game 37-20. However, they trailed by 17 points by halftime. This resulted in the Browns clinching a playoff spot in historical fashion and the Jets adding another chapter to an extremely frustrating season.

Clemons himself was not too relevant in this game. He had just two tackles. In the 2023 season, he has a forced fumble, .5 sacks, and 14 solo tackles.

New York Jets Disappointing Season

You can make the argument that an event like this has been building up for a while. Why is this? It goes back to the very first week of the season.

Before the season started, the New York Jets had Super Bowl aspirations thanks to the addition of veteran QB Aaron Rodgers. Unfortunately, those aspirations died quickly. That is because Rodgers tore his Achilles just four snaps into the 2023 season.

The Jets were hoping that Rodgers could return at some point this season. There were even rumors that Rodgers would come back if the Jets were in playoff contention after Week 15. Unfortunately, the Jets could not keep the ship afloat without Rodgers. The loss in Week 17 puts them at 6-10 on the season.

On top of this, the Jets had a quarterback carousel this season. That is because their offense ranks 31st in total yards per game and 30th in points per game. It did not help that New York went through a horrible scoring drought earlier this season.

Now, the Jets have just one more game to suffer through in this difficult season. All they can do now is hope that 2024 turns out better for them.
