They hope that surrounding him with a solid roster can help him reach his full potential. New head coach Aaron Glenn was asked about Fields, and his answer revealed he is already liking what he sees.

This marks the second straight draft that the team has taken one of the top offensive tackles in the draft. “Listen, we want to surround Justin with good skill players, along with a good offensive line. So any time you can do that within any offense, with any quarterback, man, that’s an A-plus. So that’s the plan, it’s always been the plan, and that’s something that we’ve talked about before. Let him be a quarterback and surround him with good players.”

The New York Jets have plenty of good players. Garrett Wilson is one of the best young receivers in the league, and Breece Hall has also shown flashes of greatness.
