New York Jets: Sauce Gardner Roasts San Francisco 49ers After Super Bowl

The leading corner for the New York Jets tweeted that he had full trust on the Kansas City Chiefs to pull through despite their underdog status during the leadup to the game. The taunting tweet was too much that Charvarius Ward fired back an explicit reply that told him to mind his own business.

Jets Wire’s Billy Riccette detailed the exchange:

Gardner tweeted, “I told y’all. The 9ers might look better on paper but the Chiefs always find a way.” He found a response from one of those “9ers”, cornerback Charvarius Ward, who once played in Kansas City.

Ward, in a since deleted tweet, said, “Boy, yo a— ain’t smelled the playoffs. You watching from the couch. Worry about the sorry a— Jets.”

It was easy to see why Ward fought back to Gardner’s provocations. He’s ben to the Super Bowl both with the Niners and the Chiefs and made his thoughts clear on which side he likes better.

His playoff performance against his old team also left a lot to be desired, as he only notched three solo tackles and one tackle for loss in 79 defensive snaps.

Meanwhile, Sauce Gardner had a solid follow-up season to his rookie-of-the-year numbers with the Jets. The elite corner didn’t get any interceptions, but he completed 12 pass deflections and 41 solo tackles.

If Aaron Rodgers was fit to play for the Jets, Gardner would have been playing playoff football. Unfortunately for him, he has to wait at least another six months to get a sniff of playoff football.
