New York Jets Star Throws Serious Shade At Ex-Coach Robert Saleh

By the middle of last season, former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh had completely worn out his welcome among Jets fans. But as the team adjusts to the new regime under head coach Aaron Glenn, it's becoming clear that Saleh wore out his welcome with some players too.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Jets running back Breece Hall didn't mince words when comparing this season to the last one. He said that this season it "feels a lot better" and he feels that there was "a lot of instability around the whole operation" in 2024. Furthermore, he added that players have "bought in" to Glenn's coaching staff, per ESPN's Rich Cimini.

"Breece Hall says “it feels a lot better” going to work every day, compared to last year. He says there was “a lot of instability around the whole operation” last year. Adds that players have bought into the new coaching staff. #Jets," Cimini wrote.

Jets fans and general NFL fans had a lot of different reactions to Hall speaking so openly negative about Saleh:

"Saying the quiet part out loud. He’s right and not the only one who feels that way," one user remarked.

"Like 80% of the quotes from Jets players talking about last season are just vaguely shading everything about the organization and likely Aaron Rodgers. What a mess 2024 was," another wrote.

"Hilarious how everyone just knew Saleh was terrible and yet the media spent months decrying his firing like he was mother Teresa," a third wrote.

"It’s wild there were jets fans who were mad Saleh and Douglas were fired."

"Wonder if this is an indictment on just Robert Saleh, or both Saleh and Aaron Rodgers?"

Saleh was fired after a 2-3 start to the 2024 season and a 20-36 record overall since his hiring in 2021. His teams never finished above 3rd in the AFC East and were rarely ever above .500 on the entire season.

Saleh landed on his feet quickly after his firing. He joined the Green Bay Packers as a consultant for the remainder of the 2024 season, interviewed for the then-vacant Dallas Cowboys head coaching job and finally accepted his old job as defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers.
