NFC Injury Updates: Charbonnet, Williams, Hunt

Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet wasn’t able to make it off the reserve/physically unable to perform list in time for the team’s Week 6 trip to Denver yesterday. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, though, the fourth-year rusher stands “a legitimate chance to make his season debut in Week 7 vs. Kansas City.”

Seattle could’ve really used Charbonnet against the Broncos after rookie first-round rusher Jadarian Price was placed on injured reserve. With both top rushing options out, the Seahawks relied on Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Velus Jones Jr. to drive their ground game. As they head into a Week 7 reunion with their leading rusher of the past four years, Kenneth Walker III, the team will hope to have Charbonnet back for his first game of the year.

Here are a few other injury updates from around the NFC:

  • Lately, it’s been looking like the Bears will also be getting a key player back on offense. After starting off the week with some walk-throughs and lighter practices, quarterback Caleb Williams was tested much to a greater degree today, going full speed, according to James Palmer of Bleacher Report. The real test will come tomorrow, though. Per Palmer, after watching Williams go full speed today, the staff and trainers will be keeping a close eye on how his legs react to workload. If he can pass the stress test, it should be a clear path for Williams back to the field on Sunday.
  • The Eagles will be without pass rusher Jalyx Hunt for Week 6, and according to ESPN’s Fowler, he could be out for longer. Hunt is reportedly dealing with knee and ankle issues. Fowler reported that Hunt is not considered out for the season, but he could miss some time.
