NFC North reigns supreme in NFL

With over a quarter of the 2024-25 season in the books, the NFC North is the strongest division in the NFL.

All four teams in the division have winning records, led by the Minnesota Vikings with a 5-0 record. Every other division includes one or more teams with losing records.

In Bleacher Report's power rankings of the 32 NFL teams, the only NFC North team not in the top 10 is the Chicago Bears at No. 17. The Vikings, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers are at Nos. 2, 3 and 9, respectively.

The extent of the Vikings' dominance this season is revealed by the circumstance that, in five games, they have only trailed opponents for an aggregate of three minutes and 26 seconds.

The Lions made it to the NFC Championship Game last year and fell just short of a trip to the Super Bowl. At 3-1, the Lions are strong again this season. Led by charismatic coach Dan Campbell, three-time Pro Bowl QB Jared Goff, first-team All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Pro Bowl defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions are one of the betting favorites to win Super Bowl LIX.

Campbell recently addressed the media, speaking about the strength of the NFC North from top to bottom and expressing the viewpoint that the strength of the division and competition will benefit the Lions in the long run.

Like the Lions, the Packers made an impressive playoff run last season. They've begun their current campaign 3-2, with one of their losses coming at the hands of the Vikings.

Packers QB Jordan Love is a rising star in the league, and head coach Matt LaFleur is recognized as one of the NFL's most talented coaches. In its three wins, the stout Green Bay defense has held its opponents under 20 points, justifying Bleacher Report's ranking of the Packers among the top 10 teams in the NFL.

With No. 1 draft pick Caleb Williams at the helm, the Chicago Bears are off to a 3-2 start. Although Williams was somewhat shaky at first, he has now completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 1,091 yards and five touchdowns.

The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner appears to be on track to curing the Bears' longstanding quarterback curse

Time will tell whether the curse in the Windy City has been overcome. But, for now, the teams clustered around the Great Lakes comprise the strongest division in the NFL.
