Cardinals

The Cardinals approach the trade deadline at 2-5 and last place in the NFC West. Although S Budda Baker said he wants to stay with the organization, he understands the business of the NFL.

“My approach is I’m here,” Baker said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “I’m here. I want to win. I want to be here. And I’m just controlling what I can control, just taking it one week at a time, and hopefully when the deadline ends, I’ll still be here. If not, I mean, it’s a business. I understand at the end of the day and that’s it.”

Baker reiterated that he is happy on the Cardinals.

“So, at the end of the day, I’m here, be where your feet are,” Baker said. “I’m happy to be a Cardinal and just focus on getting a W this week versus Cowboys.”

Baker is focused on “playing great football” and controlling what he can.

“It’s a deadline for a reason,” Baker said. “Teams are trying to get players, and our team might be trying to get players and getting other players. So, at the end of the day, it’s a business. So, for me, it’s just continue to play great football. I feel like I’m playing great football right now and just control what I can control.”

Rams

Rams QB Matthew Stafford said the team can run anything offensively, regardless of whether RB Blake Corum or RB Kyren Williams is in the backfield.

“I haven’t had a tandem like this where they both can do everything,” Stafford said, via Rams Wire. “You usually have one big guy, one small guy, a big slow guy that can run over people and a small fast guy that can run around people. And this is a really unique instance in which we can call our entire offense with both those guys in the game.”

Seahawks

Without running backs Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price, the Seahawks still defeated the Chiefs, their first loss of the season, behind strong running from third-string RB Emmanuel Wilson. Nearly everyone praised Wilson after the game, including OL Grey Zabel, HC Mike Madonald, and QB Sam Darnold.

“I saw a guy that just refused to get tackled,” Zabel said, via Seahawks.com. “He just kept running hard and when you got a guy like that you’re going to exert as much effort as you possibly can to make sure he succeeds. What an unbelievable guy, teammate, person and kudos to him, the work that he puts in to have a game like that is truly cool to see.”

“I think our staff and our players did a great job this week of really identifying where we can improve. I think when we watched our self-scout tape, like I said earlier in the week, I left those meetings more enthused with our ability to be able to run the ball. We had to be able to fix some certain things that we needed to improve on. So I think you saw the result of that, of us taking a step,” Macdonald said of Wilson. “I think it shows a better little blueprint for how we want to move forward. It’s week-to-week. I know I am hitting you with a bunch of clichés here. We got to re-prove it again next week. We have an opportunity to get even better.”

“Our offensive line did a great job of communicating all day and staying efficient with our calls,” Darnold added. “Again, it’s a huge credit to our plan, too, throughout the week of knowing exactly what kind of looks we were getting and practicing those a ton.”
