The Commanders could still use another receiver to play opposite of WR Terry McLaurin. Although Washington GM Adam Peters said they could see WR Treylon Burks taking another step with his development, he mentioned that they still have time to add another receiver.
“Terry’s a No. 1 receiver. I think [Burks has] another level to go to,” Peters said, via John Keim of ESPN. “He showed us a lot at practice and in the games. … I like the room right now, but I think just like everywhere, we have a lot of time to add before we play in September.”
Eagles OT Lane Johnson recently hinted at the possibility of former OL coach Jeff Stoutland returning to the team in some capacity. Philadelphia HC Nick Sirianni seemingly put that thought to rest, saying they are comfortable with their coaching staff currently in place.
“Obviously, we moved on with our staff, and really enjoying working with these guys,” Sirianni said, via EaglesWire. “Obviously, love the guys that are no longer part of our staff. Always will have a relationship with those guys, with everything they’ve done for our football team. But right now, we’re just focused on the upcoming year with this staff.”
Giants HC John Harbaugh said that he will design the offense around the strengths of his players and added that there’s not much that QB Jaxson Dart can’t do.
“It’s gonna be built around what the guys do well,” Harbaugh said, via GiantsWire. “So the good thing, one of the many great things about Jaxson Dart, is he does so many things so well. “I mean, he can live in a lot of different worlds, and if you watch the offenses that we’ve had over the last number of years, it’s built around a lot of different elements, and there’s a lot of different elements that Jaxson can play in. Power run, dropback pass, quarterback-driven stuff, RPOs, quick ball-out type of completions. He can throw the ball downfield, throw it off play action. I’m not sure what he really can’t do, you know? So we’re gonna try to live in those different worlds and see how it fits all the other guys on the offense.”
