NFL analyst calls for the Panthers to sign a Super Bowl champion at a position of need ahead of training camp

The Carolina Panthers ended the 2024 season on a much better note than they started it. After starting 1-7 through the first half of the season, they were able to win four of their final nine games to finish 5-12, including a big win in Week 18 over their NFC South rivals, the Atlanta Falcons, to end their playoff dreams.

They will now want to build off their improvements during the second half of last season, and one NFL analyst believes there is one more move for them to make ahead of the 2025 season.

ESPN urges the Panthers should sign CB Kendall Fuller

"The Panthers have their starting cornerbacks set, but they need to think about backup plans. I think Fuller would be a good fit here. He had reasonable charting metrics in Miami last season and really good metrics in Washington in 2023. He's also versatile, with the ability to play both outside and in the slot."

ESPN's one final move for all 32 teams

Kendall Fuller has had a solid career since being selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders franchise. He has spent time with three teams over the past nine seasons. The highlight of his career came with the Kansas City Chiefs by winning the Super Bowl in 2020.

This past year, he started all 11 games he appeared in with the Miami Dolphins. He isn't going to be a lockdown number one CB for anyone at this stage of his career, but he is still a productive pro and would easily become the second best CB on paper behind Jaycee Horn on the Panthers roster. So, adding a CB before training camp seems like a no brainer for Carolina, whether that is Fuller or one of multiple other free agents CBs still available.
