OTAs have started for some teams around the NFL, and coverage is being made across the entire league.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been getting some extended coverage as some young talent has been added for them in recent years, including players like rookie Travis Hunter and second-year standout Brian Thomas Jr.

As we saw a struggling Jaguars team in 2024, they have started over with a new head coach, Liam Coen.

With the new hire as head coach in Coen, he's been assigned to work with franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

As Lawrence enters his fifth season in the NFL after being drafted first overall in the 2021 NFL Draft, he's had an up-and-down career so far.

His greatest success came in 2022 when he led Jacksonville to a 9-8 record and pulled out a win in the Wild Card round against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Since then, the Jaguars committed to the quarterback from Clemson and signed him to a five-year extension that's worth $275 million in the 2024 offseason.

After a 2024 season that saw Lawrence getting shut down early due to a shoulder injury that required surgery, there's a lot to be expected from the former first overall draft pick.

Tim Hasselbeck makes a bold statement towards Trevor Lawrence

As Jacksonville began OTAs, we have seen some footage of the team working together and getting some workouts in.

NFL analyst Tim Hasselbeck made a controversial statement on Monday, saying that Trevor Lawrence needs to "prove that you can carry a franchise."

"We are at that point now... Because that is what you expect somebody to do when you draft them with the first overall pick," Hasselbeck told fellow insider Peter Schrager on NFL Live.

With this being said, it seems as if Lawrence has a lot to prove as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

With a contract that pays him a yearly average of $55 million, it might be time to see Lawrence take the next step at the quarterback position.
