NFL analyst makes bold claim about Aaron Rodgers to Jets rumors

The Aaron Rodgers drama is in full swing with the offseason close to getting underway and no one knows what the future may hold for him with the Green Bay Packers. 

Most media members and fans seem to think that Rodgers will be on his way out of town via trade this offseason. Until we hear more from the team or Rodgers, everything is simply speculation.

If the Packers do end up trading Rodgers, there is one team that has gained a ton of traction as a potential landing spot. That team is the New York Jets, who have been searching for a franchise quarterback for a few years now.

Some reports have stated that the Packers would be searching for at least two first-round picks in exchange for Rodgers. With the Jets a quarterback away from being legitimate contenders in the AFC, it’s not far-fetched to think that they might be willing to pay a hefty asking price to land a superstar like Rodgers.

One NFL analyst spoke out about the potential Rodgers to Jets trade and made a very bold statement. Mike Greenberg did not hold back on "Get Up" with his thoughts on the matter.

“I believe that Aaron Rodgers could make Garrett Wilson into Davante Adams. … I actually do think with Aaron Rodgers they would have a shot at [the Super Bowl] next year.”

Would Aaron Rodgers Really Make The Jets A Contender?

The main question that needs to be answered is how much does Rodgers really have left in the tank. Also, would he have a good enough supporting cast if he was traded to the Jets?

Like Greenberg stated, there are very few young wide receivers with more talent and potential in the NFL right now than Garrett Wilson. He would be an upgrade over even Christian Watson, who became Rodgers’ No. 1 target for the Packers this season.

Behind Wilson, the Jets have some talent at wide receiver but not a ton. They have Elijah Moore and Corey Davis, but neither of those guys is a legitimate second option until proven otherwise. In the backfield, the Jets would have Breece Hall returning from injury, who looked very dominant in his rookie season before going down with an injury.

The presence of Aaron Rodgers would certainly help the Jets recruit more players. The city of New York is always a draw and the Jets would have some major selling points. Just trading for Rodgers doesn’t move the needle a ton for New York, but it would be the first giant step in getting into the contender conversation.
