The Los Angeles Rams made one of the biggest splashes in free agency when they signed wide receiver Davante Adams.
Acquiring a true outside X receiver was one of the top priorities for L.A. during the offseason, and it landed the best ones on the market. Adams brings instant experience and leadership to the Rams' WR corps, and is still producing at a high level - recording 85 receptions for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets last season.
Adams will pair up with Puka Nacua in 2025, who is a former 1,000-yard WR himself. At just 23-years-old, Nacua is entering the prime of his career and will greatly benefit from the addition of Adams. While ranking his top pass-catching groups in the league, NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks put the Rams at No. 5, led of course by Adams and Nacua.
"After watching Sean McVay gush over free-agent signee Davante Adams’ talents, I’m even further convinced the creative play designer will fully unleash Matthew Stafford now that he has the six-time Pro Bowler and Puka Nacua, a star since entering the league in 2023, at his disposal. The record-breaking receivers will enable Los Angeles to utilize an approach that keeps opponents guessing. Whether changing their alignments within the formation or flipping the script on their designated routes, Adams and Nacua can unlock parts of the offense that would make the Rams more explosive. With the two studs producing chunk plays, the team could also see WR Tutu Atwell and TE Tyler Higbee make key contributions as complementary weapons. Considering Stafford’s effectiveness as a drop-back passer, the Rams’ pass-catching corps has a chance to produce huge numbers with an expanded playbook." -- Bucky Brooks
With Adams working primarily on the outside and Nacua in the slot, there will be plenty of snaps and targets to go around for both. They each will have a legitimate shot at 1,000 yards, as they should open things up for one another. McVay and Stafford should have no problem utilizing both to their fullest potential, setting up the Rams' offense to be one of the best units in the league in 2025.
