NFL Analyst Shares A Sad Russell Wilson Reality

The Week 14 matchup between the Denver Broncos and Kansas Chiefs has been taken out of primetime and moved to the afternoon slot.

NFL media members have determined that the matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins is the better alternative, which is why this game has been ultimately flexed.

Although the matchup of the Chargers and Dolphins should serve as a great game, there is widespread speculation that Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is the main reason for this shift.

Wilson has certainly underperformed for the Broncos this season, as evidenced by their 3-8 record.

Wilson’s Season Statistics

Through 11 games, Wilson is 17th in total yards, 28th in touchdown passes, and 30th in quarterback rating.

Simply put, he has not played like the athlete that the Broncos were expecting when they traded away five draft picks, two starting-caliber players, and one backup quarterback.

The only semi-encouraging statistic from this season is that Wilson has only thrown five interceptions, the ninth-best ranking in the NFL.

Even though Wilson isn’t throwing many interceptions, the Broncos have still been highly inefficient in their games, win or lose.

Wilson is only completing 58.9% of his passes on the season, a full 5.7% below his career average.

Having only thrown eight touchdowns this year, he’s also on pace to have his lowest touchdown season, with his previous worst being 20, which was back in 2014.

At this point, the Broncos will have to live with their decision to make a blockbuster trade, as they still owe Wilson over $230 million.
