Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears were able to extend their win streak to three after they narrowly escaped a Week 11 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 19-17. The win moved the Bears to 7-3 on the season, as they sit atop the NFC North despite a minus-6 point differential. They will have a chance to move that win streak to four on Sunday as they'll be hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4).
Despite the team's strong record, Williams hasn't necessarily been lighting it up under first-year head coach Ben Johnson. In the win against the Vikings, Williams completed 16-of-32 passes (50%) for 193 yards and no touchdowns or interceptions. The game marked the sixth time in the last seven contests that Williams failed to complete 60% of his passes, yet the team's run game and defense have picked up the slack from the former No. 1 overall pick. If the Bears have any chance at contending this year, they will need Williams to find another gear.
While Williams and the Bears are looking to solidify their standing in the playoff race, Week 12 will also see them playing for a variety of different causes. In Weeks 12 and 13, players across the league will partake in "My Cause My Cleats," which sees them wear custom cleats that bring attention to a charity of their choice.
As shared to X by the NFL, Williams' cleats will represent his foundation, Caleb Cares, which is predicated on bullying prevention and empowering the youth. His cleats were designed by students with the goal of allowing kids to embrace being different.
"His cleats, designed by students, are a powerful reminder that young voices and creativity can lead the way," wrote the NFL.
