Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos kept it rolling in Week 14. They took down the Las Vegas Raiders on the road, securing a 24-17 victory at Allegiant Stadium to mark their 10th straight win. Nix completed 31-of-38 passes for 212 yards, zero touchdowns and no interceptions. The 25-year-old quarterback also registered three carries for 15 yards and one rushing touchdown. Thanks in part to Nix’s performance, Denver improved to 11-2 to retain the No. 1 spot in the AFC.

Nix, however, was involved in a contentious incident in the game. The NFL has reviewed the sequence in question and announced its punishment.

Nix has been a driving force for Denver this season. Now in his second year in the NFL, the former Oregon Ducks star has completed 297-of-470 passes for 2,954 yards, 19 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He’s also rushed 55 times for 244 yards and four rushing TDs.

One of Nix’s key weapons this season has been rookie running back RJ Harvey, a second-round pick out of Central Florida. On Sunday against the Raiders, the 24-year-old registered a game-high 17 carries for 75 yards and one rushing TD, along with six catches for 25 yards.

One of Harvey’s receptions came in the third quarter after he caught a 4-yard pass from Nix. Harvey, however, was stopped in his tracks by Raiders linebacker Jamal Adams. The three-time Pro Bowler grasped Harvey’s face mask during the sequence, though, resulting in a 15-yard penalty against Vegas for a facemask violation.

In the replay, Harvey’s head can be seen twisting as Adams pulled him down during the illegal tackle.

The NFL Officiating Department has reviewed the incident and has decided to punish Adams for his actions. The All-Pro safety was included in the list of names that received a fine from Week 14, which was announced on Saturday via the league’s gameday accountability report. Adams was hit with an unnecessary roughness fine of $6,972 for his facemask violation.

This is the fourth time Adams has been fined in his career. Including the penalty from Week 14 against the Broncos, the 30-year-old veteran has amassed $53,073 in fines throughout his nine years in the league.

Nix and the Broncos are back in action on Sunday for a Week 15 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. As for the 2-11 Raiders, they will look to snap their seven-game losing streak on Sunday against the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
