Key Points:

  • JuJu Smith-Schuster fined $7,903 for low block in Chiefs-Ravens Week 4 matchup
  • NFL penalizes Smith-Schuster despite no flag being thrown during 37-20 Chiefs win
  • Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey also fined $11,593 for first-quarter facemask vs. Kansas City
  • Chiefs aim for third straight win with Monday Night Football matchup vs. Jaguars

JuJu Smith-Schuster and the Kansas City Chiefs have now won two straight games, moving to 2-2 after a 37-20 win over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season. The Chiefs have been shorthanded at the wide receiver position this season, missing Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy for a few games. But Smith-Schuster has filled in nicely, recording 14 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown.

With 1:45 remaining in the second quarter of Chiefs vs. Ravens, Patrick Mahomes tossed a touchdown pass to running back Isiah Pacheco to increase Kansas City's lead to 13. However, away from the play, Smith-Schuster got away with a low block penalty.

While no flag was called for the play, the NFL still revealed on Saturday that Smith-Schuster has been fined $7,903 for an "unnecessary roughness/low block."

This is not the first time Smith-Schuster has been fined by the NFL. Toward the end of the 2024 season, the former USC Trojans wideout was hit with a $6,722 charge for a "use of the helmet."

Along with Smith-Schuster, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey was also hit with an $11,593 fine from the Week 4 game due to a "facemask."

"Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey was fined $11,593 for his first-quarter face mask against the Chiefs," wrote The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. "Chiefs WR JuJu Smith-Schuster was fined $7,903 for his low block penalty against Ravens."

Similarly, in Week 3, Patriots' cornerback Marcus Jones ($9,151) and Lions safety Brian Branch ($11,598) were hit with slightly higher fines than Smith-Schuster for a "low block."

Up next for the Chiefs, a Monday night battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.
