The Cleveland Browns (1-5) are gearing up to take on the Miami Dolphins (1-5) on Sunday, with rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel making his third consecutive start.

However, on Saturday, two of Gabriel’s top offensive weapons made headlines, as wide receiver Jerry Jeudy and tight end David Njoku both received punishments from the NFL. The league announced a total of 21 fines stemming from Week 6.

At the 9:20 mark of the first quarter in the Browns-Steelers matchup, Jeudy was flagged for unnecessary roughness — an infraction that has now resulted in a $12,172 fine.

Njoku’s fine came at the 13:47 mark of the fourth quarter, after he made an obscene gesture. He was fined $14,491.

It’s been tough sledding for Jerry Jeudy and David Njoku this season. The Browns opened the year with veteran Joe Flacco under center before he was benched after four starts and eventually traded to the Cincinnati Bengals — where he’s now thriving.

In his place, Cleveland turned to rookie Dillon Gabriel, whom they selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.

The production simply hasn’t been there at a consistent rate for either offensive weapon, at least not to the standard they’ve been used to.

Neither Njoku nor Jeudy has recorded a game with more than 70 receiving yards this season. Njoku has hauled in 23 receptions for 223 yards and one touchdown, while Jeudy — who posted a career year in 2024 with 1,229 receiving yards — has caught just 20 passes for 240 yards and has yet to find the end zone.
