It's more than just a weekend on our hands here, as the NFL Wild Card games stretch into Monday night with a matchup between Dallas and Tampa Bay. We've got you covered with a betting angle from each game, and no better place to start but the first game.
Spread: San Francisco -9.5
Total: 42 points
The Niners have beaten the Seahawks in both meetings this season and we do expect them to win again. However, we're a bit wary of backing a nearly 10-point spread in a divisional matchup. Instead, our preference is on the game total, and we like the under. There's rain expected in the forecast, and both previous matchups this season have reached just 34 points.
Betting: Under 42 points
Spread: Los Angeles -2.5
Total: 47.5 points
The Saturday night game should be a fun one between two budding stars in Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence. Few teams are hotter than Jacksonville right now, and we prefer backing the postseason experience Doug Pederson brings to the table here. The Jaguars took it to the Chargers earlier in the year winning 38-10 and while we expect it to be closer, the result will be the same.
Betting: Jaguars +2.5
Spread: Buffalo -13
Total: 43.5 points
Unfortunately we won't get to see Tua Tagovailoa in this game, and it doesn't appear we'll even have Teddy Bridgewater at the helm for the Dolphins. We're left with rookie Skylar Thompson, the architect of a measly 11-6 win over the Jets last weekend. Buffalo has been one of the NFL's best teams all season and are in the playoffs for the fourth straight year. They're going to destroy the Dolphins.
Betting: Bills -13
Spread: Minnesota -3
Total: 48 points
These two met on Christmas Eve, with the Vikings winning 27-24 thanks to a last-second, 61-yard field goal. The knock on Minnesota this year has been their tendency to be involved in close games, with their -3 point differential on the season particularly jarring for a 13-4 team. Meanwhile, New York has been the best betting team this year, going 13-4 ATS. We expect another close game.
Betting: Giants +3
Spread: Cincinnati -9.5
Total: 40.5 points
It seems Lamar Jackson will not play here, and the spread continues to move in the favor of Cincinnati because of it. The Bengals have won seven straight games and should advance with ease here against what is expected to be third-string QB Anthony Brown. We ran a teaser play when these two met last week to success and feel that's our best approach once again.
Betting: Bengals -3.5, Over 34.5 points (-115 DK)
Spread: Dallas -2.5
Total: 45.5 points
The last game of "Super Wild Card Weekend" will take place in Tampa on Monday. On one hand, the Buccaneers have not been a good team this season at 8-9 while the Cowboys have been one of the NFC's best. On the other hand, the Cowboys are 1-4 on grass this season and Tom Brady is 4-0 straight up and ATS the last four times he's been a postseason underdog. This is a tough one. Our gut says Dallas wins, but it's hard to bet against Brady in the playoffs. We'll take the points.
Betting: Buccaneers +2.5
