NFL coaches and executives reveal their feelings on what the Pittsburgh Steelers are getting from quarterback Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers still believe he has something left in the tank.

Or at least, enough for the Steelers to sign him and go all in on winning a Super Bowl with Rodgers at the helm.

But many have called Rodgers washed, or over the hill.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN talked to some in the league to see what the NFL thinks...

NFL personnel believe Rodgers can be the best QB in Pittsburgh since Big Ben

"He's still throwing the s--- out of the ball, honestly," a veteran NFL offensive coach told Fowler. "He's the best quarterback they've had since [Ben Roethlisberger]. We will see how the body holds up, but I think he's going to help them immensely...

"...Look, the mobility is an issue, there's no doubt," an AFC executive added. "But where he helps them is with the plus arm strength and the field vision from the pocket. They haven't had that. I'm not sure that will be enough, but the offense will be at least respectable."

Honestly, I don't know how you can analyze the five starting quarterbacks since Ben Roethlisberger's retirement (Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, Justin Fields, and Russell Wilson) and with a straight face, say that any of them are better than Aaron Rodgers.

I know some like to compare the numbers of Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers last year, but one guy played for the dysfunctional New York Jets, with coach firings, a bad offensive line and no running game at times, and still threw for nearly 4,000 yards and 28 touchdowns.

The other guy [Russell Wilson], lost five games in a row and was the subject of discourse between him and his offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith. The Steelers had weeks to sign him, and still they pursued every other option including Aaron Rodgers.

As for Justin Fields, I could get behind the idea of re-signing him, but the Steelers wouldn't commit to him as the lone starter, and so he took Rodgers' spot in New York.

We'll find out soon enough who was right in their decision-making, but the NFL seems to be on board, or at least a select few, with the Steelers' mindset.
