NFL considering two Christmas Day games in 2021?

The New Orleans Saints' Christmas Day game against the Minnesota Vikings was a hit. Because of that, it appears the NFL is considering more Christmas games in 2021.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, the NFL is considering playing two games on Christmas Day next season. It's unclear which teams are being considered for the matchups.

The Saints-Vikings game, which began in the afternoon, drew in 20.1 million viewers. If the NFL stages two games on Christmas, one will likely begin in the afternoon and the other at night.

There have only been 22 Christmas Day games in the NFL's history. After the league held two Divisional Playoff games on Christmas in 1971, more games on Christmas didn't occur until 1989. Since then, the NFL has held Christmas Day games on occasion, including in 2016 and 2017.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers have the best Christmas Day records at 2-0. The Dallas Cowboys have played the most Christmas games and have a 2-3 record on the holiday.
