When the 2025 NFL schedules came out, it's hard not to immediately search for the positives in your team's schedule and then follow that up with the negatives. Or, you can flip the order in which you do that based on whether you're a pessimist or an optimist.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, they have a huge positive on their 2025 schedule that only five other teams have, and it's something that they will definitely need, especially after the 2024 season. Sure, they have a mean four-game streak near the end of the season that's going to be tough to deal with.
But it doesn't get much better than having the bye week that they have. Most people have preferences when it comes to the bye week, some want it earlier in the year, some want it later in the year. For the Raiders, after all of the injuries they have dealt with over the years, what's better then having it right in the middle of the season.
The Raiders have the Week 8 bye week, which splits in half the season for them with a break in the middle. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams also all have the Week 8 bye week.
In 2024, the Raiders had the Week 10 bye week, and they needed it earlier than that. That team was banged up, maybe more than any team in the league. In 2023, they also had the Week 10 bye week. In both of those seasons, you could tell that Week 10 was maybe just a tad bit too late.
Before their bye week this season, the Raiders are set to face tough teams like the Los Angeles Chargers, Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, and the Kansas City Chiefs. They will need that bye week before they then go on to face teams like the Houston Texans, Chiefs again, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Denver Broncos twice.
