The Jacksonville Jaguars have been known as London's team for some time now. They have played 11 games over there, including a few seasons where they have played two games in London. That is their home away from home, if you will.
So, with the NFL schedule being released on Wednesday, May 14, we already knew the Jaguars would have one international game, and that it would be in London. But we didn't really know the opponent that they would be playing.
In 2023, the Jaguars played the Atlanta Falcons and the Buffalo Bills in London. Last year, they played the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots in London. Both of these seasons, they played those two London games back to back weeks, staying in London and avoiding traveling too much, making the team that much tired and sluggish.
The Jaguars are currently 6-5 in London all-time. This year, the NFL did not do them any favors in attempting to get that record up even more above .500. In fact, if this team ends up being bad, because we truly don't know what they will be, this could be a game where you pencil in a loss.
On Tuesday, the NFL revealed that the Jaguars would be playing the Los Angeles Rams in London in Week 7. The Rams are one of the best teams in the league, and were actually the closest team to beating the Philadelphia Eagles in the postseason last year.
Jaguars general manager James Gladstone comes from the Rams, having been under their front office staff for years. So, he kind of knows what to expect from the Rams. But that's the general manager, not the head coach or the quarterback, or any other player on the team.
This game will likely be at 9:30 AM EST, which is pretty early for a football game. But it should be fun regardless.
