The Arizona Cardinals are slated to pick No. 3 overall in the upcoming NFL Draft, and while the organization may be about to add a difference-making pass rusher, it might not be the only bold move the organization makes.

After Kyler Murray was released earlier this offseason, the other half of the Cardinals’ battery in the passing game could also be on the move, if general manager Monti Ossenfort gets a strong enough offer for former top-five selection, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Could the Arizona Cardinals pull off Marvin Harrison Jr. NFL Draft blockbuster?

According to Pro Football Focus, Harrison Jr. is the Cardinals’ most valuable trade asset as the NFL Draft approaches.

“It’s been a disappointing first two seasons for the 2024 No. 4 overall pick,” John Kosko writes for PFF. “Coming out of a wide receiver factory with strong name pedigree, Harrison looked like a slam-dunk prospect.

“Inconsistent quarterback play has played a role, but other top-tier receivers — such as Malik Nabers, Drake London and Garrett Wilson — have produced early in similar or even worse situations. While Harrison likely has better football ahead of him, the Cardinals’ current roster situation may warrant maximizing his value before his trade market declines.”

Given Murray’s inconsistent play, and inconsistent availability, it is difficult to determine just how much of Harrison Jr.’s inconsistency is a byproduct of his own skill-set, or the situation around him in Arizona.

If a team such as the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, or Los Angeles Chargers come calling with an offer that includes a first or second-round pick, it might be difficult for the Cardinals to pass up the opportunity to acquire an asset to set aside towards their long-term rebuild rather than hoping Harrison Jr. turns a corner in new head coach Mike LaFleur’s system.
