The Dallas Cowboys are nothing, if not aggressive, and that strategy could hold true during the upcoming NFL Draft.
While the Cowboys look to secure franchise tagged wide receiver George Pickens to a long-term contract, Dallas could be about to pull off a blockbuster trade to add a game-altering weapon to quarterback Dak Prescott’s supporting cast.
Over at The Athletic Vic Tafur argues that the Cowboys could pull off a blockbuster trade with the Arizona Cardinals to acquire the No. 3 overall pick and select star Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.
“No one is talking about how undervalued the running back position is when a polished prospect like Love pops up,” Tafur wrote on Wednesday. “Looking at those odds again, Love is +145 to go third in the draft — as opposed to -145 at No. 4 — and a 20-1 shot to be drafted by the Cowboys, per BetMGM.”
Love is viewed by some as the premier prospect in the entire draft, and he would certainly add an element of explosiveness into a Cowboys’ offense that has seemed to live and die around Prescott and the passing game in recent seasons.
Adding a running back with Love’s playmaking ability could provide the kind of balance the Cowboys have missed, and tipped the scales towards Dallas in what could be a tightly packed NFC East race in 2026 and beyond.
