NFL Exec Leaks Lamar Jackson Trade Update

An NFL executive has an interesting take on a potential trade involving Baltimore Ravens superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The Ravens have already made one drastic change following a disastrous 8-9 season, firing beloved head coach John Harbaugh after an 18-year tenure. Now, the focus in Baltimore shifts toward Jackson.

In the final days of the regular season, Lamar Jackson’s name was frequently mentioned in trade rumors amid whispers that his relationship with Harbaugh had deteriorated. The latter may be gone, but could the Ravens decide to start afresh and move on from their 29-year-old quarterback?

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler asked NFL executives to offer bold trade predictions involving several superstar players in the offseason. Several execs floated a scenario with Jackson going to the Las Vegas Raiders, with one person giving Fowler this take:

“It just seems like there’s been some consternation there with Lamar and the Ravens, and this would be the ultimate Mark Davis move. I’m not even convinced everybody with Vegas would be on board with it but it would instantly solve their quarterback problems.”

The Raiders own the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Most fans and experts assume they’ll take Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with that selection. But with the draft three months away, the Raiders have time to mull over their options.

Lamar Jackson’s Trade Value Is Difficult To Evaluate Now

Two years ago, a potential trade involving Jackson wouldn’t have required much thought. Surely, Baltimore would have asked for multiple first-round picks and a lot more.

But Jackson turns 30 next year. He has missed at least four games due to injury in three of the last five years. Cam Newton and Michael Vick, who played similar styles, slowed down by their early 30s. There is no guarantee that Jackson will remain healthy and continue playing at a high level much longer.

Las Vegas obviously wouldn’t give up the No. 1 pick for Jackson. At this rate, Baltimore would be lucky to get more than one day-one pick for the two-time MVP.
