NFL executive compares Ravens rookie to All-Pro WR

The Ravens may have surrounded Lamar Jackson with the best supporting cast he has had in his career and one NFL executive believes one of their rookies could have a massive impact in 2023.

According to the executive, Baltimore's first-round pick, WR Zay Flowers, has "Stephon Diggs"-type upside to his game.

If Flowers does turn out to be anything like Diggs, who has 703 catches for 8,812 yards and 59 touchdowns in his career, the Ravens got a steal at pick No. 22.

It's certainly high praise for a player that hasn't played his first snap in the league yet, but the 22-year-old isn't short on confidence.

"I feel like I'm a complete receiver. I can do it all. You name it, I'll be able to do it," Flowers told reporters.

Several scouts around the league also think Flowers "has a shot" to end his rookie year as a top-five slot receiver in the NFL.

The Boston College product had 78 catches for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022.

"Flowers is the best pure separator in the draft class. Defensive backs won't be able to stick with him across on his route breaks unless they're holding him," Pro Football Focus writes.

Joining a room that already includes wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor will help keep defenses' attentions elsewhere.

Although it won't be easy, Flowers seems to have the talent and confidence to reach the high expectations of those around him.
