The Green Bay Packers are battling through myriad injuries as the preaseson trudges on, but that hasn’t changed the franchise’s optimistic outlook for the season ahead.
Despite quarterback Jordan Love undergoing successful thumb surgery and several of the Packers’ wide receivers dealing with nagging injuries this summer, those inside the league believe Green Bay is poised for a potential Super Bowl season.
Each summer for the past five years, I have conducted a survey of NFL executives, coaches, scouts, and players to get their predictions for various aspects of the upcoming season.
In this year’s survey, Love received the most votes for the MVP candidate that people aren’t talking enough about as the season approaches.
“The Packers have a ton of weapons, and Jordan Love will have to play at [an MVP] level for them to be contenders,” an AFC scout told me, one of three voters who listed Love as their under-the-radar MVP candidate.

Love is looking to rebound from an up-and-down second season as the Packers’ starting quarterback, having passed for 3,389 yards with 25 touchdowns to 11 interceptions guiding Green Bay to the NFL Playoffs before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card round.
Similarly, one voter in the survey predicts that the Packers will reach the Super Bowl against the Baltimore Ravens.
If Love has the kind of season that the scout and other league power brokers believe is possible, Green Bay has the chance for a special 2025 campaign.
