Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens secured a third straight win in Week 10, jumping to 4-5 on the 2025 NFL season and keeping their playoff hopes alive after a 27-19 win over J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings. Jackson couldn't get much going against the Vikings defense, completing 17 of 29 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown, adding another 36 yards on the ground.
With 10 seconds remaining in the second quarter, the Ravens had the ball in opposing territory looking to take the lead, but Jackson was sacked for a 10-yard loss by linebacker Dallas Turner. However, Turner was flagged for roughing the passer after driving Jackson into the ground with his full weight, giving Baltimore 15 yards and a first down. Still, the Ravens settled for a field goal and went into halftime trailing 10-9.
But with his illegal hit on Jackson, Turner could see a hefty fine coming his way. In the NFL, players can be fined up to $17,389 for a first roughing-the-passer penalty, which can increase to $23,186 upon a second violation.
Nine fines for roughing the passer have been handed out through the first nine weeks of the 2025 NFL season. Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen was fined $17,389 and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy took a a $17,389 hit in Week 2; Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr. was fined $17,389 in Week 3; Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was fined $17,389 in Week 4; New England Patriots defensive tackle Cory Durden incurred a $5,722 fine in Week 5; Queen was fined again, this time for $23,186, in Week 6; Los Angeles Chargers defensive tackle Teair Tart was fined $17,389 in Week 6; Green Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker was fined $17,389 in Week 7; and Los Angeles Rams linebacker Byron Young was fined $8,417 in Week 9.

This would also not be the first time Turner has been fined during his two-year career. In Week 8, he was fined $19,907 for an unnecessary roughness against the Chargers, described as a "launch."
Up next for Jackson and the Ravens, an AFC North battle with Dillon Gabriel and the Cleveland Browns in Week 11.
