NFL Facing Punishment Decision After Dak Prescott Incident

Dallas got off to a strong start against a tough Ravens secondary, scoring 21 points through three quarters of play.

During a third-quarter drive that ended in a 19-yard touchdown catch from Prescott to tight end Jake Ferguson, the Cowboys got some help from Baltimore. Ravens defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike was flagged for roughing the passer against Prescott, adding 15 yards to the drive.

That penalty could carry consequences beyond the field. The NFL reviews all roughing the passer incidents to determine whether they warrant a fine, as the league takes quarterback safety seriously.

A first-time roughing the passer offense carries a fine of $17,911 per the NFL’s official fines and appeals schedule.

The play will be reviewed by the league to determine whether further action is warranted.

Following the matchup, Dallas will hit the road to face the Houston Texans. Baltimore returns home to host the Tennessee Titans in Week 4.
