NFL fines Browns T Tytus Howard for tripping

The NFL fined Cleveland Browns right tackle Tytus Howard $12,537 on Saturday for a preseason tripping penalty.

Howard, 30, drew a 15-yard flag in the first quarter of the team's first preseason game on Aug. 15 at Chicago.

Money received from player fines is donated to the Professional Athletes Foundation and NFL Foundation.

The Browns acquired Howard from the Houston Texans on March 11 in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick. After the trade, he signed a two-year, $45 million contract extension with Cleveland.

A 2019 first-round pick by the Texans, Howard started all 93 of his games with Houston from 2019-25.
