NFL futures: Betting which conference wins the Super Bowl

We've dug into both conferences on their own and a few teams we like to reach the Super Bowl from both the AFC and NFC. Now the focus turns to which conference is better positioned to hoist the Lombardi Trophy next February.

Rather than hitching a bet to one team in particular, you're able to back an entire conference. As we sit here in June, the AFC is favored to be the winning conference on DraftKings, at -125. That puts the NFC as the slight underdogs at +105.

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise, six of the top nine teams favored to win the Super Bowl come out of the AFC, and the conference is most definitely loaded with strong teams and franchise quarterbacks.

The sheer competitiveness expected out of the AFC this year makes it more challenging to pick a Super Bowl winner from this side of the league. There are upwards of 10 teams with legitimate postseason aspirations, and it figures to be a battle to advance to the Super Bowl out of this conference.

Ultimately, that does, in the end, favor a bet on the AFC in this market.

Whichever team is able to navigate through the playoffs will be battle-tested on numerous occasions, setting themselves up to succeed in the Super Bowl.

Now, this doesn't deter from our love of the Eagles that we discussed in yesterday's NFC piece. In that situation, a bet still feels better placed on the team itself that you like to advance out of the NFC. The path projects to be far less menacing, and the value would be better placed on the team you like.

For this specific market, we're able to combine the entire AFC and the many teams that appear to be contenders. They're the favorites, and rightfully so.

The bet: AFC to win the Super Bowl (-125 DK)
