We're going through all the available futures offered to us for each NFL team and picking out two of our favorites.
Maybe it's a player prop future, maybe it's built on the team itself. Either way, we're finding two bets for all 32 teams. Today's target: the Minnesota Vikings.
Whether it's Sam Darnold or rookie J.J. McCarthy, the gameplan should be simple for Minnesota's QB this year: get the ball to Justin Jefferson.
(UPDATE: McCarthy is out for the season after surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.)
The Vikings are entering a rebuild that they hope is brief, and Jefferson is far and away their cornerstone piece. Jefferson could be one of Minnesota's only options to start the year, as WR Jordan Addison is facing a potential suspension and T.J. Hockenson could be out for quite some time with an injury.
Beyond them, Minnesota is left with the likes of Brandon Powell and Trent Sherfield. Jefferson is going to be force-fed.
The Vikings star missed seven games last year and still finished with 1,074 yards. He had gone for 1400+ in each of his first three seasons before that. Trust in the star, no matter the QB.
As we mentioned, Minnesota is re-tooling their roster and likely already looking to next season after Kirk Cousins left in free agency. In an ideal world, J.J. McCarthy gets to see some action in-game and shows the team they have their quarterback. But this world is the opposite of ideal.
No matter what though, this team figures to be among the basement-dwellars in the NFC. One such way to fade them is by loading up their under on their division wins. The NFC North is a powerhouse this year. The Lions are among the favorites to win the Super Bowl, and the Packers aren't far behind. The Bears are also favored to be a playoff team with Caleb Williams and a loaded roster.
Wins are going to be tough to come by for the Vikings in this division with their current situation. And losing McCarthy for the season didn't help. At all.
