NFL host Colleen Wolfe, like many in the United States, is looking forward for the upcoming 2026 draft. Multiple players will know their fate in the league, starting with Fernando Mendoza, the consensus No. 1 pick this year.
Pittsburgh will host the event for the first time ever, and while fans might not be too excited about it, Wolfe has reasons to wait for the three-day event. On Tuesday, she lauded Pittsburgh native singer KELS, who will perform the national anthem at the draft.
“First of all, if you haven’t heard @findingkels sultry voice yet: you’re welcome. ✨✨Pittsburgh’s own is singing the anthem Thursday to open the NFL Draft. ✨✨But first she took me around town and I tried not to embarrass her,” Wolfe wrote, sharing some photos from their meeting.
On April 11, KDKA’s Ricky Sayer reported that 40% of Pittsburgh’s hotel rooms were still available. This meant that, instead of the 500,000-800,000 people they expected, 100,000-200,000 fans would likely attend the draft per day.
This could be a result of the high prices, or this year’s class might not be as stacked as prior ones. Still, the city will have a reduced attendance for one of the biggest events on the NFL calendar.
