Texans wide receiver Nico Collins was ruled out of today’s game for the second straight week due to a hamstring injury. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, though, Collins “has a decent chance” to make his return to the field in Week 4.

Collins was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. Wilson reported that, while Collins’ status for next week is still being determined as his activity ramps up, barring any setbacks, the outlook, for now, is positive. Not an uncommon situation for Collins, the sixth-year receiver has missed at least two games in every year of his career. The team will hope they can limit their games without Collins to two this year.

Here are a couple other injury updates from around the NFL:

  • Second-year first-round Chiefs offensive tackle Josh Simmons has yet to make his 2026 season debut. The Ohio State product who missed over half of his rookie season has been a non-participant in practice so far as he deals with a back injury. Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, head coach Andy Reid told the media that Simmons has been doing “everything” behind the scenes as the team waits for his swelling to go down.
  • After last week’s game, Bears head coach Ben Johnson informed the media that cornerback Tyrique Stevenson would be week-to-week as he deals with a hamstring injury, according to Adam Jahns of CHGO Sports. He didn’t participate in practice this week until he was a limited participant on on Friday, but he participated fully yesterday. Based on the participation trend, it looks like Chicago may try to get Stevenson out there for Monday Night Football.
