NFL insider drops bombshell report on Jets' Zach Wilson trade

While not breaking news, the likelihood of Zach Wilson being traded from the New York Jets this offseason looms large, prompting speculation on potential destinations and trade terms.

As the New York Jets prepare for negotiations, identifying potential suitors for Wilson becomes a priority.

Recent reports suggest Wilson himself has taken initiative in exploring prospective teams, particularly those with offensive-minded coaches, a quality he has yet to experience. Dissatisfaction with prior coaching staff adds weight to Wilson’s search for a more conducive environment.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported that Wilson is exploring potential trade destinations. ESPN's Rich Cimini reported on Feb. 6 that the Jets are expected to trade Wilson "in the coming weeks" with the goal to find a viable backup QB.

Jets ownership has tacitly acknowledged the situation, with owner Woody Johnson recently making remarks that hint at tensions surrounding Wilson’s tenure.

Jets general manager Joe Douglas hinted at the team’s interest in acquiring a veteran backup quarterback earlier, naming potential targets such as Ryan Tannehill, Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew, all of whom are impending free agents. This strategic move underscores the team’s commitment to fortifying their quarterback roster amid ongoing uncertainties surrounding Wilson’s future.
