We've finally made it to draft week!
The Denver Broncos have seven picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, beginning at No. 20 overall in the first round. There are a multitude of different position they could choose from that in that slot, but the overwhelming belief among experts is that Denver will select an offensive skill position player in order to give quarterback Bo Nix another weapon.
The draft board could begin to get a bit murky by the time Denver hits the clock, as some players fall and others are taken earlier than expected. While revealing some of the latest draft intel that he has gathered, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported that the Broncos are one of the rare teams that have expressed interest in trading up during the first round.
"There has been, however, a lack of teams willing to trade up — at least so far. Denver is one of those: The Broncos have made inquiries about moving up in Round 1, according to sources. But there aren’t many others. This always could change when players start falling and teams are on the clock." - Adam Schefter
A couple of thoughts come to mind. First is that Denver is very high on a specific player and is willing to move up to get him. Who could that be? Based off the Broncos' top-30 visits, running back TreVeyon Henderson as well as wide receivers Matthew Golden and Luther Burden III could be in play.
Outside of those guys, other players who come to mind are RBs Ashton Jeanty and Omarion Hampton, WRs Tetairoa McMillan and Emeka Egbuka, and tight ends Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. It's possible that the Broncos trade up for a defensive player, but those odds seem low after how much they beefed up that side of the ball during free agency.
Moving up for Jeanty would likely come at a hefty price as he could go as high as the top five. As for everyone else listed above, they could be available just a few spots ahead of Denver's selection. Regardless of who they take, the Broncos should be able to secure a high impact player who contributes right off the bat.
