The New York Giants are one of the top teams interested in free agent quarterback and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers is taking his time making a decision. In fact, there have been reports that he may not make a final decision until the week of the NFL draft in April.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport suggested that Rodgers may not make a decision for another month.

Thankfully for the Giants, Rodgers' decision timeline won't impact their plans much at all. New York needs a quarterback both now and long-term. They sound prepared to pursue both this offseason.

Benjamin Allbright, a reporter for KOA Colorado, has offered a couple of tidbits of information on how the team's pursuit of Rodgers will impact their draft plans.

First and foremost, Allbright would not rule out a trade up to No. 1 from the Giants even if they do land Rodgers.

“Even if the Giants land Rodgers it wouldn’t preclude a trade up here," he said.

Also, New York is fine with the idea of over-investing in the quarterback position. That hints at doubling down on a veteran in Rodgers and a rookie like Shedeur Sanders.

“The Giants know they have to take multiple swings at QB and they’re OK over-investing because if it doesn’t work, none of them are going to be working there next year, anyway."

Many Giants fans have been begging the team to go all-in on finding a legitimate quarterback. Landing two is music to their ears.

New York has just over a month to make a decision. It's quite possible that they could sign Rodgers and still land their long-term quarterback of the future.
