There's plenty of excitement surrounding the Los Angeles Rams as the upcoming season nears. The Rams are going through minicamp at the moment, one of just a handful of teams still in action.
Their offseason has been a busy one, but arguably the biggest veteran move they made was adding Davante Adams to their offense. He could turn into Matthew Stafford's new best friend, alongside Puka Nacua.
In a recent offseason nuggets piece from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, the Rams were mentioned because of their acquisition of the long-time star wide receiver. Adams still has plenty of fans around the league, according to Fowler.
Adams is 32, but he's still performing at a high level and rarely misses time because of injury. Many evaluators still consider him elite, while acknowledging that he might have lost half a step after 11 years in the league.
Teams we spoke to think Los Angeles got good value in Adams at two years and $44 million. The team can escape the deal after one year and $20 million and still save $14 million on the cap.
"Sean [McVay] can get really creative with him, because he's that classic outside receiver with size that you can also slide inside," an NFL personnel evaluator said. "It's a risk because Kupp was so good there for so long. But I see this as a slight upgrade."

Adams has impressed the coaching staff during practice, and he seems to be working out a groove with the other pieces to the passing game under Sean McVay.

It will be intriguing to see what sort of production Adams puts up in the Rams offense going forward. They've seen multiple receivers produce annually when you consider Nacua and Kupp recently.
You can even think back to the days of Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt from the Rams' days in St. Louis as well. There has been a precedent with this team of having success with multiple guys stepping up in that room. -- A to Z Sports
Football fans on social media love the term "washed" when it comes to older players, particularly ones at skill positions. That's sectioned for those aging players who simply are not producing or performing well enough.
Doesn't sound like Adams will fit that bill anytime soon in Los Angeles.
