Jimmy Johnson became one of the best coaches in football history during his time with the Miami Hurricanes and Dallas Cowboys. From 1984 to 1988, he led Miami to a national championship before joining Jerry Jones and the Cowboys in 1989. He then guided Dallas to back-to-back Super Bowl titles before departing the team after the 1993 NFL season.
But after ending his coaching career in 1999, following his second stint with the Hurricanes, Johnson stayed busy by joining “Fox NFL Sunday” as an analyst. After more than 30 years on television, he stepped away in March, with former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski taking his place on the show.
But after his second Super Bowl victory with the Cowboys, Johnson settled in the Florida Keys, which eventually led him to open Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill. The Key Largo dining and entertainment complex offers pools, cabanas, a restaurant, watersports and live music, all set right on the waterfront.
And this week, Johnson unveiled a new addition to Big Chill, announcing the release of his “very own home-brewed” beer, Jimmy Johnson’s Hall of Fame Lager, which will be served on draft at the Key Largo complex.
"Introducing Jimmy Johnson’s Hall of Fame Lager — our very own home-brewed Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill beer," Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill wrote on Instagram. "Crisp, refreshing, and poured ice-cold right from the tap. Come and grab yours on draft — the kegs are flowin’ fast and this one’s already becoming a fan favorite."
Johnson now joins his former Fox Sports colleague Terry Bradshaw in the alcohol business. While the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback doesn’t have his own beer, Bradshaw has built his brand around whiskey since retiring.
