Michael Strahan has entered his 19th season as an NFL analyst with Fox Sports, working the pregame show Fox NFL Sunday alongside Curt Menefee, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long and Rob Gronkowski. But before he was in the studio, Strahan was a dominant defensive end for the New York Giants, helping his team win a Super Bowl over Tom Brady’s New England Patriots.
But Strahan has done much more during his post-NFL career, even joining ABC’s morning show Good Morning America as a co-host in 2014. The Texas Southern alum even hosts a prime-time game show called The $100,000 Pyramid, along with co-owning his own lifestyle and apparel brand, Michael Strahan Brand.
Strahan even has his own talent management and production company called SMAC Entertainment, which he co-founded in 2010 alongside Constance Schwartz-Morini. The company has represented major sports figures such as Deion Sanders and Terrell Owens, while creating shows such as Coach Prime and BS High.
And on Tuesday, Strahan and SMAC Entertainment, working with Creative Artists Agency and EverWonder Studio, announced their newest project called the Grand Slam of Flag. The women’s flag football tournament is set to begin in Los Angeles during Super Bowl week in February and will have $500,000 in prizes for the winner.
Introducing Grand Slam of Flag, a new global women’s flag football tournament series from SMAC Entertainment, CAA Sports and EverWonder Studio,” Grand Slam of Flag wrote on Instagram. “Bringing together six of the world’s top women’s national teams, Grand Slam of Flag will debut in Los Angeles during Super Bowl week in February 2027.
“Each Slam will feature a $500,000 prize pool, the largest financial prize ever offered in women’s flag football, as the sport builds toward its Olympic debut at LA28. This is just the beginning ”
The tournament will feature six national teams, including Canada, Mexico and the United States, with Strahan serving as founding partner. Grand Slam of Flag commissioner Sam Rapoport also noted he plans on creating four more events in the future, while mentioning the addition of flag football in the 2028 LA Olympics.
“The Olympics are giving women’s flag football its moment, we’re building a business that makes sure that moment doesn’t end in 2028,” Rapoport said. “What we’ve seen specifically in women’s sports is as soon as the Olympics take place, you see this incredible interest in the sport.”
Super Bowl LXI will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2027, in Inglewood, California, with the Grand Slam of Flag beginning the week before.
