NFL legend Peyton Manning has received very good news away from football. The co-owner of Denver Summit FC is approaching a historic record in the NWSL.
According to Just Women’s Sports, the Summit has sold 40,000 tickets ahead of its March 28 match at Empower Field at Mile High against the Washington Spirit.
This figure is close to the National Women's Soccer League's all-time record of 40,091 tickets. Furthermore, tickets are still available, so the Colorado club could reach or break the record.
Empower Field at Mile High has a total capacity of 76,125 seats.
"The Summit have sold 40K tickets ahead of their March 28th match, almost breaking the NWSL attendance record of 40,091, with tickets still available," wrote the aforementioned outlet on its official Instagram account.
The 2026 NWSL season begins in March. The Summit's first three matches will be as visitors. They will start by traveling to San Jose, California's PayPal Park, to face Bay FC on March 14.
Subsequently, they will travel to Florida to face the Orlando Pride at Inter&Co Stadium on March 20, then five days later travel to New York to Sports Illustrated Stadium to face Gotham FC (March 25).
On March 28, they will play their first home match, the aforementioned game against the Washington Spirit. They will begin April with a trip to Seattle to face the Seattle Reign at ONE Spokane Stadium on the 4th.
Denver Summit FC will have its inaugural season in 2026, after being accepted as an expansion team by the NWSL. "Created by the community, for the community, Denver Summit FC was born from a grassroots movement of Denver supporters who believed women’s soccer belongs at the highest level in this city — a belief that continues to shape who we are today," the club itself explains on its website.
