The Washington Commanders are in the midst of a bitter contractual standoff with star Terry McLaurin before the 2025 NFL season. The two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver formally requested a trade from the franchise earlier this week.

For a player of his caliber, there are certainly a plethora of suitors. Given the lofty contract that he likely wants, however, only a handful of teams could afford to pay him near the top of the market.

Legendary NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson, who played the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, believes that McLaurin should go to the Tennessee Titans or Las Vegas Raiders.

Both the Titans and Raiders have ample cap space to make a move happen, and they have a need for another veteran receiver. Tennessee has Calvin Ridley, and Las Vegas has Jakobi Meyers, but neither is considered a true No. 1 receiver in the current NFL climate.

It would take up a bit of cap space and cost either team some premier draft capital, but could be worth it for a player like McLaurin, who caught 82 passes for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns en route to a spot on the All-Pro Second-Team.

Neither the Titans nor the Raiders is well-positioned to make a run in their respective divisions, so adding a top-tier player could help with their prospects. Both teams also have a smattering of young wideouts who could learn from a veteran like McLaurin.

Johnson, who was a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro during his 11-year NFL career, certainly echoes the sentiments of both fan bases with these predictions. Quarterbacks Cam Ward and Geno Smith would both benefit from the addition as well.
