NFL Legend Shannon Sharpe Names His MVP Pick
© Kevin Jairaj—USA TODAY Sports

As the NFL season winds down, media members and fans have been debating the winners of a couple of prestigious season awards, such as the Most Valuable Player.

ESPN analyst and NFL legend Shannon Sharpe was the latest to share his pick for the MVP award.

After watching a couple of matchups in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs, where the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 and the Houston Texans defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12, Sharpe announced his pick.

He believes Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson should win the NFL MVP and it seems Sharpe doesn't view it as a debatable subject.

"Ravens are putting on a clinic," Sharpe said. "NFL go ahead and send Lamar Jackson his MVP trophy. He’s played like this all season on a mission 2 right a wrong. That happened in last yrs AFC Champ gm. This gm is OVA."

If Jackson were to secure the NFL's MVP award for the 2024 season, it would mark the third time he's received the prestigious honor in his professional career. He previously won the NFL MVP in 2019 and 2023.

So far this season, Jackson has posted 41 (No. 2 in the NFL) touchdowns and 4,172 (No. 6 in the NFL) yards with a 66.7 completion percentage and the No. 1 QBR in the league (77.3).

In the win over the Steelers, Jackson recorded two touchdowns and 175 yards, completing 16-of-21 pass attempts. He was also extremely efficient on the ground, serving as the Ravens' second-leading rusher with 81 yards.

Jackson helped the Ravens amass 464 yards, 29 first-down conversions and 6.4 yards per play with a 10-of-15 third-down conversion rate.
