It has been more than 16 years since Terrell Owens last played a regular season game in the NFL, but the football icon continues to draw attention.
Owens had an incredible run in the pros and made himself one of the most interesting personalities in the game. His celebrations made fans love him and opposing teams hate him, but it only helped him build a reputation for showmanship.
Even better, Owens had the numbers and accolades to back up his confidence. The legendary wideout recorded 15,934 receiving yards and 153 touchdowns in his 15-year career, becoming a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro member.
Owens, who played for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, was also named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
In retirement, Owens is thriving in business and other endeavors as he did on the field. In fact, his lifestyle and apparel brand Prototype81 — which he founded in 2018 — continues to grow and expand.
On Sunday, Owens even announced a new partnership for his company, revealing that he reached an exclusive licensing deal with the Chattanooga Mocs for an apparel line. It's worth noting that Owens played college football for the Mocs from 1992 to 1995.
"THIS IS FOR ALL MY CHATTANOOGA MOCS!!!!" Owens excitedly wrote. "I am announcing My Exclusive Licensed MOCS Apparel, a brand to honor the institution that helped me develop my talent on and off the field."
Owens has taken an active role in promoting his business. A few months ago, Prototype81 even fielded a team in the Model Pickleball Tournament and participated in the Los Angeles Fashion Week.
It will be interesting to see how much Owens' brand can grow in the next few months, but he's certainly going all out to make it an even bigger success.
